First Toast is a brunch-and-lunch spot on North School Street, where the griddle runs on chorizo, birria and handmade tortillas from the moment the doors open at eight.
The menu crosses borders without asking permission — red chilaquiles with prime rib, tres leches French toast, a burger that holds its own alongside mole and chile rellenos. Cocktails show up before lunch does, and on Mondays the margaritas are half price.
